Our Story

How Blue Bubble Andaman Started

Sucheta Basu Karmakar started Blue Bubble Andaman in 2018 with a simple belief. If you're coming all the way to the Andamans, the person planning your trip should actually know the islands, not be sitting in a call centre somewhere on the mainland.

Since then we've planned honeymoons, family holidays, group trips and plenty of adventure holidays across Port Blair, Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) and Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep). Because we're here every day, we know which ferry suits your schedule, which beach is best at sunrise, and which hotels are really worth what they charge.

Every trip starts with a chat about your dates, your budget and how you like to travel. That's why no two Blue Bubble itineraries ever look the same.

Barren Island, India's Only Active Volcano

Around 135 km north east of Port Blair sits Barren Island, home to the only confirmed active volcano in India and South Asia. You can't land on the island itself, but from a boat you'll see the volcano rising straight out of the sea, and the water around it is wonderful for diving and snorkelling. Trips depend on the weather and the sea, so ask us what's possible for your dates.

You can see Barren Island, India's only active volcano, from a boat, and dive or snorkel in the waters around it. Landing on the island isn't allowed. Trips depend on the weather and sea conditions, so ask us about your dates.

What is the best time to visit the Andaman Islands?

October to May is the most popular time to go, with calm seas and clear water for the beach and water sports. June to September is monsoon season, and some ferries and activities can be affected by the weather.

How many days are enough for an Andaman trip?

Five to seven days gives you enough time for Port Blair, Havelock and Neil Island without rushing. If you only have four days, most people do Port Blair and Havelock.
